Hope to Travel to South and North Carolina

Hello,
My husband and I have an upcoming two week trip planned to Atlanta and the Carolinas. I am hoping Fodorites in the area are all doing well after such a scary experience and can advise us if we should change our plans. I've been checking weather forecasts and news reports but, since I have never been to the area, I figured I would ask the experts.
Our plans are to arrive in Atlanta October 6 and stay for three nights. We will then rent a car and visit Savannah, Beaufort, Charleston, Asheville and Greenville before returning back to Atlanta. Should these areas be OK? Any advice?
Thank you so much and, again, I hope everyone is doing OK.

I spent the weekend in Asheville and all is well. Highly recommend a visit to the Biltmore.

Your itinerary will be fine. The hurricane was a strange one and really didn't do anything much below Myrtle Beach. Georgetown unfortunately is now getting hit by flooding but Charleston and below are fine.

All is well in the areas you want to see. There is a Chihuly art exhibit on at Biltmore right now and it is getting really great reviews!

Thanks, willowjane. Unfortunately, it looks like the exhibit will have just ended by the time we get there. Maybe the good reviews will convince the powers that be to hold it over a little longer.

Have you considered an RV Rental for your travels? It will give you all the flexibility you need to go where you like, when you like. There are amazing beach RV Parks near Savannah. Hilton Head, SC is a short drive from there. You can rent a smaller Class C RV and have all the luxury you'd ever want.
