Okay, this is kind of an odd question. Three years ago, my family did a trip to Yellowstone/Tetons. On the way home, we drove across Wyoming and we saw some cool rock formations north of the expressway. It looked like it might have been a state park or recreation area. Now, we're planning another long road trip where we drive across Wyoming - and I'd like to stop there and do a hike/eat a picnic lunch - but I can't seem to find it on Google. Does anyone know what I'm referring to?

Spent many MANY days at Vedauwoo and I would say that is definitely the location being referred to.

Love that park; there are picnic facilities and several short easy trails through interesting rocks, and it's fun to watch the hard-core rock climbers.

Btw, across the highway (just south of 80, a bit east of the park), the Ames Brothers Monument is an interesting place. Worth a 20 minute excursion, IMO.
