Ferryman or Girl from the North Country
Hello,
We will be in London on the 10th of March and we’d love to see a play. Has anyone seen Ferryman or Girl from the North Country? Our first choice was Network because my husband is a huge Brian Cranston fan, but it is sold out and resale ticket prices are quite high. These other two choices seem interesting and are well reviewed. Any thoughts? Oh and a dinner spot suggestion near the theater or our hotel would be much appreciated as well. We are staying at the Marriott Park Lane and I’m thinking Indian or Italian. Thanks in advance for your input.

I saw Ferryman recently; it's fantastic. Very intense, but funny and touching as well. Great acting.
The Irish spoken was at first a bit hard to understand but we got used to it.
Haven't seen Girl from the North Country - that should be good too. Much more music, obviously - perhaps a bit more light-hearted compared to the Ferryman?

Restaurants near the Marriott; Roti Chai for Indian, very close.
Just a little further one of our favorite indian restaurants; Thrishna. Book well in advance, it's small and very popular.
If you're going to The Ferryman; the Palomar is very close - fantastic food, book at the bar. Middle Eastern food.

Getting a table at the kitchen bar or dining room at the Palomar on a Saturday night with less than a month to go is unlikely, certainly none available online, you can try as a walk-in though or calling the restaurant for a booking. I booked my table 3 months in advance. The bar is crowded and very narrow but the food & cocktails are excellent.

Cjar: Even if you think it is sold out, stop by https://officiallondontheatre.com/tkts/. We thought that "Don Juan in Soho" with David Tennant was sold out last May, but lo and behold, we scored some last minute tickets!

Thanks everyone. I seem to be having trouble navigating the new layout and system. I thought I had already acknowledged these lovely bits of advice. Some days my head and hands aren’t friends and I am not a techie. Argh. I will take at these restaurant suggestions.. Thanks all.

I loved The Ferryman. The acting was incredible, though I think the original cast has switched since September. Still, a really strong play. Sadly, have not seen Girl from the North Country or Network, so can't speak to that. I'd still try for Rush tickets to Network, though! Have a great time in wonderful London!
