Ireland in February
Looking for a 6 day European destination in February.. Direct flights from BDL make Ireland attractive destination. Our first visit, we like to hike, explore towns and cities and eat good food. Is Ireland a good choice for a late February short (6 days) visit? Thanks

Dublin has a lot of things you could see and do inside if weather if the weather is bad. The luas tram makes getting around so easy now. You can head to Cork and enjoy the coast and take the train to Midleton for the day enjoying the distillery tour. Hartford weather is about the same in Feb, less snow at least. I saw the Aer Lingus counter there in Oct. Cheap flight and you are there in under seven hours. I would go for it. We are doing Paris in Feb.

Paris or London . . . Sure. But other than Dublin ( far from my favorite city in Europe) feb. isn't a time to be wandering around the Irish countryside, especially if your main interest is walking. ( I wouldn't go to Scotland in feb either if I had the choice and Scotland is my favorite country anywhere)
But - if the fares are really good, use it as a jumping off spot to go to some terrific city.
