Pawley's Island, SC Favorite Restaurants?

We will be spending 4.5 months at Litchfield by the Sea this winter. We enjoy all types of food and would appreciate recommendations for both lunches and dinners. Do they have Restaurant Week in Jan.? I haven't been able to find anything about it.

No restaurant week Just good eating just 5 miles north in Murrell's Inlet.
Nance's is a good all round "fish camp" style place and THE place to have the best oyster roast in the area
Hanser's just outside the gate at LBTS is very reliable. We often get oysters on the half shell to bring back to our condo.
Our fave in Murrell's Inlet is Russell's. It is a second floor restaurant across from Nance's--never disappoints and Russell will greet you every night.
Inlet Crab Restaurant up at the top end is good and you can make reservations.
In Pawley's, the white tablecloth restaurant is Frank's, and Frank's Out Back (slightly less formal). Get a table by the fireplace in the latter. Frank's is the best place to eat north of Charleston.
Chive "something" is a great lunch place--huge portions of well prepared food.
For fresh seafood to buy, it is Seven Seas Market--all the way through MI almost to business 17.
If shrimp are in season look for the shrimp truck in front of the hardware store in Pawley's Island.
AND we also go to Georgetown Independent Seafood for fresh off the boat seafood. Their crabmeat is TDF.
A fun place in MI is Bubba Love's--it is on the marshwalk around the Divine restaurants.
Creek Ratz is fun for lunch.
We haven't been to the Hot Fish Club for a long time but "maybe".
For the best fried chicken ever, look along the Route 17 for Sweettea's. It is a literal shack next to the car wash. Get the number and order ahead--they cook everything to order.
The cafe/restaurant at the Litchfield Inn is quite good--and it is right on the ocean which not many places are on that part of the coast.
Bistro 217 has pretty good food.
Lee's Farmers' Market on 17 Bypass north is a good Italian deli and market. OK produce, but their Italian goods are really good.
If you go to Charleston have lunch at SeeWee on Route 17 just north of Mt. Pleasant.
Go to Brookgreen GArdens and Hobcaw Barony for a taste of the lowcountry culture.
Spend some time in Georgetown--wonderful Revolutionary War era town with great shops.
McClellanville is another place to go to see--and get fresh seafood

Oh, Wicked Tuna is a newer place in MI. They have very good sushi and actually have two separate kitchens for the sushi and then the other seafood. It has an outside deck.
The Divine group of restaurants (it is the name of the family) are all along marshwalk--wood fired. We have sort of given up on them as overpriced and maybe not using local seafood as much as other places.

Gretchen, Thanks so much! We were there last year and have hit on some you have mentioned but have not been to any in MI. We did find a shrimp truck in a parking area along 17...HUGE shrimp. We will be sure to try the chicken shack next to the car wash. The car wash in itself is quite an experience. We usually walk the beach at sunset and see the Litchfield Inn lit up and plan to go there this year. Can you tell I am excited to head south soon? Now if you could tell me where to buy a nice condo with super low fees and at a super great price that would really make my day. OH..ocean front, of course!

Again, thanks so much for taking the time to post.

Well, you can look for a share. There are lots of beach places for sale. Take a look at N. Litchfield.
If you've missed MI you have really not eaten at the best seafood on the coast!!
Where are you staying.

A share wouldn't work...we stay 4-4 1/2 months. Actually, it does works well for us to rent an ocean front condo at LBTS at seasonal rate....no worries about upkeep, hurricanes, condo fees, etc. We always look for fun tho.

Discovered this winter that Sweet Teas is closed. Now it is a hot dog place.
