wow.. awesome, too bad I was too early in Switzerland this year to try it out. But still, I think the shorter Cliff Walk on Mt. Titlis has more spectacular views.

A friend hiked to the Trift suspension bridge last month, and I thought that looked scary ....

I don't like to stand on the edge of cliffs, but the bridge doesn't look scary to me--it has sides.

It would take 5,000 Swiss Francs/US $ to get me to cross it. And I would be crying.

At least the foot bed looks solid. The scariest bridge I've crossed was in northeast Pakistan, which was wooden boards on steel cables, with a lot of gaps. And if it's only two feet wide you should be able to hold onto nth sides.

Yeh I'd walk in a thousand heart beats-if it's made in Suisse I have no fear!

In a heartbeat! And since my heart would be going pretty fast, that means I'd be ON it.

Not with 3 martinis and a gun to my head!

Other than that I have no strong opinion on the subject!

@ TPAYT: After 3 martinis, you probably would be wise to forego this particular stroll. JMO. ;-)

I think I could -- the sort of wire mesh 'wainscoting' is tall enough that it wouldn't feel like you could fall off the sides. But how much does it bounce?

Maybe a two martini bridge????

Technically it is a hanging bridge, not a suspension bridge, but I wouldn't cross it even if it were a tenth of the length.

They say it has features that greatly decrease the oscillation.

I couldn't do it. It's not fear, because I'm convinced it's safe. I just get queasy if I see air below me. Even the glass floors in Palazzo Valentini in Rome nearly did me in.
