New Mexico with kids (10,12 y/o)

We are traveling from Dallas to New Mexico for a short 4 days. Would love to know best places to visit. Loretto Chapel is one I can't miss. Thanks in advance

Does the four days include the day you fly out and the day you fly back?

Since Loretto Chapel is a can't miss for you, fly into Albuquerque.

Look for an early flight, rent a car and head up to Tent Rocks SP and let the kids do a hike.

Then continue north to Santa Fe. Visit the chapel and any other sites you want if there is time that day or the next. Spend a night or two in Santa Fe

About an hour west of Santa Fe is Banedlier National Monument, an Ancient Native American site with homes carved into the soft rock of the hillside. The kids could climb ladders up into them and get a bit of history with their fun.

Then you could either spend another night in SF and head up to Taos and visit the Pueblo or head back to Albuquerque for a night and go an hour west to visit Accoma Pueblo.

Yes, let us know when you are planning to visit, where and how you are getting here. Four days is only two if you are driving from Dallas -- 10 hour drive or flying into Santa Fe on American is a non-stop one hour 20 minute flight which gets your here at 9:45am and gives you all day to play. I don't remember what the last flight out is but that depends on the season.

Give us some details so we can help you out.

Thanks and I apologize for not being specific. We are driving out today, and have booked 3 nights in Santa Fe. From there visit Taos and maybe Albuquerque. Any suggestions we can't miss. Thanks

My kids always enjoyed just exploring the plaza area in Santa Fe, usually including a visit to Senor Murphy's candy shop. They also loved exploring at Bandelier. Pick of a copy of the free Santa Fe Reporter for great info on current events.

Don't know the weather, but a hike at tent rocks is well worth it. Last time I was in Santa fe the tourism office had a checklist, I think it was tied to geocaching, of their bigger tourist attractions. Kind of a fun way for the kids to visit them.

The weather here is SPECTACULAR today. Sunny, no wind and quite temperate.

The zoo in ABQ is great, as are the other 2 areas of the Bio Park -- aquarium and botanical gardens. The Children' Explora is fun buum t likely crowded.

Taos isn't a place that jumps to mind for kids.

Museumm Hill in Santa Fe has some good museums, International Folk Art in fun for kids.

Acoma is great, but it will take a full day; not sure OP has that much time.
