Bluebonnet Time in Texas

My sister, brother, and I (all in our 70s) are planning a trip to San Antonio this spring and are interested in seeing the bluebonnets in bloom. I have read a little about timing and know it's difficult to predict, but do you all have an idea of the most likely time for them to be in bloom? And what route through the hill country would be best? We will be driving from Kentucky.

We would like to stay along the River Walk and would also like your recommendations for a hotel in the $150 to $200 per night range, as well as any suggestions you have for restaurants. We like good food but are not "foodies."

Thanks for your help.

Yeah, that website is basically accurate. Although we tend to get truckloads of them by first week of April here in the northern climes of DFW.

There are tons of hotels on the Riverwalk - just check the major chains and you can easily find some in your range. Wherever you get points (if anywhere) is best.
