Hey Ramon. Have you thought about writing an article on Priceline. Regardless of your budget range or hotel star rating, you can find hotels on PL that are cheaper than most other websites. I recently discovered Hostal Amigo Suites in the zocalo area. amazing value with bathrooms in the rooms.

I used Airbnb for Mexico City. I got an amazing apartment in Roma norte for $40 a night. The hosts were very friendly and always ready to give suggestions on places and restaurants. They recommended some of the best restaurants.
