Girls weekend - within driving distance of Philadelphia
My six high school girlfriends and I want to plan a long weekend getaway in the March/Apr timeframe somewhere we can drive to from the Philadelphia area. We are in our 30's, interested in good restaurants, bars that we can have a conversation in, and maybe a good place for pedicures (but not totally essential). We are pretty easy to please. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Williamsburg VA is 5 1/2 hours away. Kingsmill has a very nice spa and great location on the river. The streets of Colonial Williamsburg are charming to walk around plus there is great outlet shopping nearby. I can give you more info about restaurants etc if you are interested.
Other ideas: DC, the Eastern Shore, Baltimore, Charlottesville.

Why not the Brandywine Valley?

Or New Hope, PA + Lambertville, NJ? (right across the river from one another)
I think the suggestions that Birdie gave would be too far for just a weekend getaway.

I would absolutely head south. March/April is uncertain weather, but it's a lot more unfavorable odds in the Poconos than Williamsburg.
I don't know about availability of spas in Annapolis, but it's always a good spot.

Your date is early. Cape May is a good choice but perhaps it is too early in the season for Cape May. Your escape may have to be mostly indoors. Cape May has great restaurants but not so much in the way of shopping in March/April.
At that time New Hope/Lambertville with the addition of Lahaska/Peddlers Village might be a good choice. Lots of food, bars, and shopping. Within 15 miles of New Hope you could keep pretty busy - even if the weather is not so good.
