Seeing that you are on a Disney Cruise, I am assuming you will have Children with you. The one day I spent there, we did a tour of Key West on a "train", which shows you all the main sights of Key West - Hemingways House, Southern-Most point, etc. Good way to see the sights. Then just walk down Duval Street for restaurants.

If you have time definietly check out Fast Buck freddie's on Duval...wonderful and fun store. The kids, if there are any, will love it.
Also the aquarium near Mallory Square..lots of "touch the creatures" opportunities for the kids and the adults.
Mel Fisher's "museum" as well.

Go to the Hemingway House, take a boat out to go snorkeling, take a glass bottom boat tour, go to the Mel Fisher museum to see all the treasure pulled up from the shipwrecks, ride the Conch Train, eat Cuban food and fresh seafood, watch the sunset in Mallory Square. Walk down Duval Street - if you have kids with you, go early in the day - it gets a little wild. There's no shortage of things to do in Key West. We enjoyed eating at Mangoes, good people watching too.

You're welcome, kelkel! We went to the aquarium too, but it seemed really in need of an update - kind of old and depressing, also saw kids sticking their hands into a tank full of nurse sharks - kind of freaked me out, nothing happened, but keep an eye on the little ones if you go there. Have fun!

I think that the kids would like Hemmingways House Tour - especially if they had a little background about him. Even if the house itself doesn't interest them the stories about all the cats might.
The Truman Summer White House is an excellent tour and history lesson if this appeals to you. Discount w/AAA card.
A sure thing for the kids is the Butterfly 'museum?'. We've been to several. This one is the best that we've visited.

The last time we were in Key West on a cruise (as opposed to being there otherwise) the Old Town Trolleys were at the pier waiting for passengers to disembark.
It might depend on exactly where the ship docks; if it is on one of the outer moles as opposed to Mallory Square it could make a difference.
As to the aquarium..yes, it was kinda "rundown" looking when we were there, too. There is usually a demonstration with the smaller sharks; they used to bring one around so you could feel the roughness of its skin, etc. I believe thay may also have a tank with rays as well as horseshoe crabs and conchs that you can touch/feel.
