Restaurants in Houston??

I would like to give a gift certificate to a nice restaurant in Houston to my married nieces and their husbands for Christmas. They are young couples with small children and a night out would be fun for them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Where in Houston do they live? I don't want to suggest something an hour away.

What kind of food? Steak, seafood, Italian, Asian, etc...

Are you purchasing the gift certificate online?

Don't know what section exactly...don't think it's far from the Galleria, though.

What are you looking to spend? Are you meaning a night out with the kids or alone? Family restaurants or romantic?

My vote would be for Cafe Annie on Post Oak (w/o the kids) right down the street from the Galleria.

cafe annie is one of the emost expensive restuarants in town, adn one of hte best. A less magnificent alterantive would be somethign like outback steakhouse/ or ninfa's (mexican)--they hav anumber of locaitons

I was thinking of Mark's on Westheimer (also close to the Galleria), but it's also on the expensive side.

I know it's a small chain, but I love Maggiano's. It's near the Galleria. The food is wonderful, and the service is usually great despite how crowded it can get. They should definitely make reservations if they go.
