2-week Thailand itinerary question!

This is hopefully my last question re my holiday! I am travelling with my three children (11, 14, 15) to Thailand in March along with another family. Our tentative itinerary is this:

-Bangkok 3 days
-train down coast, PKK 2 nights
-train to Khao Sok National Park and jungle adventure 4 days
-remainder of the time in Andaman Coast (8 nights)

Is this too much moving around? Not enough? Once we get the Coast, we can either stay in one spot (Centara Beach Resort) or should we do 3 nights one place (eg Phuket or Phi Phi) and then 5 nights Krabi?

Our kids are active and adventurous, but given the first week is quite busy, should we stay the entire second week in one spot?

Thanks everyone -- this forum has been INVALUABLE to me in planning this trip!!!

It is a lot of moving around. If you are going to spend a week on the Andaman Coast, I think I'd cut PKK. You would only have one full day there - is it worth the travel time?

If you opt to cut PKK, then you could opt for two locations on the Andaman Coast. I no longer recommend PhiPhi, as it has become so over-touristed, but there are plenty of locations on the Andaman coast that are possibilities for you: Phuket, Krabi. Ko Lak, Ko Lants, etc.
