fly or ferry from Italy to Croatia
Help please!!!
Can I have some advice as to whether it is better to fly or take the ferry from Italy to Croatia.
We are a group of 6 adults wanting to spend 3 nights in Hvartravelling late July, 2016. We can leave from either Pescara or Ancona as we have a car and get to either cities.
I understand that there are no ferries running from Pescara to Hvar in 2016, and looked at leaving from Ancona. Is it an overnight ferry? Is there bedding on the ferry?
alternatively do we fly from Pescara to split? then ferry to Hvar?
We also need somewhere to leave the car (long term car parking)
Advice please

If the boat leaves late in day and goes across the Adriatic it is an overnight boat and those IME have lots of amenities on board - including a range of sleeping options from deck chairs - free - to multi-person bunks to private compartments, all on top of the deck passage fare - bedding included - there will be restaurants, etc and of course a bar where some folk fall asleep IME.
You do save on the cost of a night in a hotel and can be quite an adventure - too much if waves are strong - boats can be cancelled due to weather.

I could be wrong, but as I understand it, ferries between Ancona and Hvar are not available daily. Here's some info:

Good luck!

Why are you taking your car just to Hvar and back? You said you were looking at flights and obviously you;d have to leave the car in Italy to do that - why not leave it there when going to Hvar and back - if going further into Croatia then unless you return the car to Italy or wherever you rented it you may well pay a steep steep drop-off charge for doing so.
