HK trams may be abolished

Recent news from HK is that the famous, 100+ year old trams (ding-ding) traveling thru Central and beyond may be removed to make way for more.......cars. Incredible, IMO.

It was the suggestion from a consultant. With the reaction from the public, it's clear it won't happen. But the current form really needs some major updating.

OMG! I hope not! First reaction--before reading the article--was to plan a long-hoped-for second trip before HK changes forever! Glad it won't actually happen. Thanks for the update, Rkkwan

There are so many more ridiculous things happening in HK these days. This is really nothing. Plus, that "consultant" only suggested abolishing the center part of the route.

Turns out that "consultant" is an retired government planner. And he wasn't paid to do this "study", rather it's his own proposal for the government's city planning advisory board.
