Chamonix to Geneva Train Station?
Hello,
We will be needing to take the train from Geneva, but are staying in Chamonix. The only quick transfers are from Chamonix to Geneva Airport, I haven't found any to the train station. Will I have to transfer from the airport to the train station? Also, we planned on going into town for an hour or two before our train leaves, will there be a place to store our luggage?
Thanks

As you've found, the trains between Chamonix and Geneva take a while and involve 2 or more changes.
There used to be an Altibus mini-bus transfer service leaving from Geneva station, so might be worth checking if that still operates. Otherwise it's not far by train between the airport and main station, so failing any other options, you could take an airport transfer bus from Chamonix and go from there.
And yes there is luggage storage at Geneva train station. Lockers only (no luggage room). From memory there are 2 sizes and you need coins (Swiss Franc) for them. I also recall them not being in the main hall, but in the middle of platforms 4/5, but there will be signs or ask a staff member.

I don't know where you're heading from Geneva, but remember that the frequent Chamonix-Mont Blanc railway runs St Gervais-Chamonix-Martigny.
Martigny is on the Geneva-Lausanne-Martigny-Brig-Zermatt/Milan main line, so don't go all the way northwest to Geneva, east through Lausanne then south again through Martigny (3 sides of a square!) when you can cut directly eastwards across to Martigny in the first place!
And if you're going to Paris, the normal way is local train Chamonix-St Gervais, then mainline train St Gervais to Paris.
But you'll find a bus service Chamonix station to Geneva station if you really need it.

Bus service yes. And if it's winter time, many bus service starts / ends at Geneva Airport and from/to Chamonix. so That's more practical for you. To get simply from Chamonix to Geneva, normally you would not think of Martigny route. Scenic but way too long. Even St.Gervais route needs a change + will not take you to Geneva Cornavin ( main ) station. The end station is called "Eaux-Vives". A small station located on the left bank while Cornavin is on the right bank. The 2 stations are linked by a tram or bus. Or you take a taxi.

If nothing you like takes you to Geneva City, but you find an otherwise convenient service to the Geneva airport, take it - the airport is linked with the main (Cornavin) station in town by a 7-minute train ride, you'll be there in a jiffy.

I suppose you plan to take a commuteer train to a small village in the Geneva area; otherwise it wouldn't make much sense to go from Chamonix to Geneva Cornavin (city) railway station.
The SAT bus is the best solution: direct from Chamonix to GVA airport, some buses go to the city bus terminal Place Dorciere too.

The distance between Place Dorciere and the Cornavin railway station is about 800 metres/2500 feet. There is no suitable public transport.
The SNCF train/bus ride lasts longer (about 3 hrs) and you have to change at least 3 times up to Geneva railway station.
There are luggage lockers at Geneva airport railway station as well as at Geneva Cornavin (city) railway station, but non at Geneva Eaux Vives (SNCF) railway station (actually closed for works).
