Barbados vs Andros Island, Bahamas

Looking for a serene beach, superb service and good food. We had our sights on Kamalame Cay on Andros Island but are having a rough time getting there (the flights just don't seem to work easily from PHL). So I've cast our net again and was looking at Barbados and Little Good Harbor. Are Kamalame Cay and Little Good Harbor comparable? How about Andros Island vs Barbados?

There are great restaurants in Barbados. The food will be better. Your dining choices on Andros will be extremely limited.

You couldn't have picked two places more opposite. Kamalame is for beachfront crashout. Barbados, as an island, is fully developed with many sightseeing, hotel, restaurant, entertainment options, so you can do as much (or little) as you want on a vacation. However, Little Good Harbor is a group of cottages across the very busy west coast road from a small beach which comes and goes with the storms. If you are for a nice beach scene with peace and quiet, this is not the place. There are four other calm water west coast options that are lovely properties with charm and amenities on nice beaches (but no beach on Barbados will equal the expanse and privacy of Kamalame):
Very pricey is Sandy Lane. Coral Reef Club and Sandpiper,
both owned by same for two generations. Treasure Beach, small, on a long walkable stretch of beach. Coral Reef, in particular has acres of gorgeous grounds between the road and the beach--very serene.

Oops, I left out that Coral Reef Club and Sandpiper are owned by the same family for two generations.

One of our favorite things about Barbados are the restaurants.
Little Good Harbor is in a very tranquil part of the island that is actually a little fishing community. It's a family run place on the west coast. If you are looking for a place with tropical gardens but still on the elegant side, you would be happy here.
