WILL SOMEONE PLEASE FIX THIS SITE!!!!

This has been going on for several days now, with multiple posts on this. I not only do NOT want to see the TRIP IDEAS menu everytime I hit a post, but what really ticks me off is that if you don't hit the X exactly you get to see the big SONY ad.

HEY FODORS, I know about Sony, been using them for years.

If Fodors had used a decent BBS system when they changed over a year or so ago things like this don't happen.

Did you write to Fodors directly or do you think that public venting will get better results?

BTW, I am not having any of the problems you are mentioning.

I encountered this very annoying problem yesterday and today. Every time you click on anything, the Trip Ideas drop down menu blocks the screen and you have to close it out.

Ugh

another thread on this issue suggested holding down the shift key while refreshing your browser and it worked for me

I have had no problems whatsoever, though I've seen innumerable threads from people who have. Amy said to hold down your shift key while refreshing your browser.

You get the "problem" if you use aol or Internet Explorer. Things work fine if you use Firefox.

It actually happens on just about every browser (even firefox). The tech staff fixed the underlying problem -- but you have to clean it up at your end too.

Amy has posted the fix on almost every board -- here are just a few of the threads . . .

This has happened to me exactly once. I hit "refresh" and the dropdown went away and hasn't returned since. I use Firefox.

Actually, Firefox and Chrome both had the issue for me yesterday. Glad to know it's fixed on the Fodor's end and there is an easy solution on our end.

This drop down is really annoying I agree. Where is the Fodors support staff? Let's get rid of this. As far as other travel chat sites go, Fodors has always been at he top, now this!

It was happening to me in Firefox 3.6 but then went away...

You know, we're all quite lucky that the Fodor's site is really basically bug-free. Welcome to the world of software - every once in a while sh*t happens. I'm sure the company is not happy that their new feature or ad is bugging out in this manner! "Where is the Fodor's support staff", well if they're anything like any of the internet sites I've worked for, they're working through the night to get this fixed...
