$1100 for airfare NYC-Vietnam multicity

Hi all,
Have just started looking at flights and the cheapest I am finding is 1100$ including tax (which is about 250 per ticket, so base ticket is 850$).

This is to fly from NYC to Saigon, then Danang to NYC, via Singapore. A simple round trip won't work for us with our itinerary.

Let me know if you think I should book these? They are for Feb-March.
Can I do better?

Thanks!
Amy

I just bought tickets today for the end of next month. Minneapolis to Saigon and home from Hanoi. $1300 a person.

I would buy it if the schedule was reasonable.

The "base ticket price" is not really important, but the full ticket price is. Of the $250 about $150 is a fuel surcharge made by the airline.

It's not all tax. With an amount that high, if you look at the details of the "taxes" you will see something called a "YQ surcharge". It is a fuel surcharge.

My friend and I paid roughly $1100 each (incl taxes & fuel chgs) for RT tickets for travel in Jan . Seattle-Taipei-Hanoi then Siem Reap-Bangkok-Taipei-Seattle (my friend has the same but starts and ends in SFO). I think tix from the west coast are usually lower than from other US cities too.

I did see lower prices (by about $50-$75) for Nov travel.
