Train ride up Hudson River

Sorry bout the "not sure" title. Is a train ride up the Hudson with kids worth doing or should we hang around Manhattan?

you can take the new york waterway up the hudson on the fall foliage tour. this weekend might be the last one. they also run a ferry up to west point and some of the old estates. it's really a very pretty trip and peaceful.

No, the train ride up the Hudson is not worth doing. It is a commuter train that runs near or along the river. A boat ride, either up the Hudson or CircleLine around Manhattan would be a better journey.

Fall foliage is over anyway! Maybe a few stragglers left on the trees.

Nevertheless, I would spend the day visiting the amazing Bronz Zoo going via subway, which travels much of the way above ground affording urban landscapes of interest.
