there are lockers...somewhere. you can always have your bag "wrapped" for about 5 usd a bag for added security.
i think you need ksh to use the lockers (it's not a traditional "left luggage" set up and i never found it, personally).
i would absolutely do as sandi recommends. i left everything with the people who took me to wilson without any worries whatsoever. they do it all the time. you a even swap out your stuff for the next few day's adventures and leave your bag again!

I agree with Kerikeri to a certain extent. Your personal safety is less of an issue, but you should certainly be aware of your belongings and surroundings when you're at the airport.
Fresh of the plane, tired, guard down... a perfect target at ANY airport in the world for sneak thieves and pickpockets. Don't be scared, just keep valuables out of sight. Be aware of what's happening around you.
As for left luggage, I've seen it around at JKIA. I would check it at your hotel if possible... or get a locker as Kerikeri suggests
