Massimop obviously has never set food in that McDonalds which in some ways resembles an Italian caffe in snack offerings.
As a tourist I enjoy McDonalds all over Europe and never eat any meat - great place for coffee and good coffee from machines just like in caffes and sundaes and best of all just being able to sit and relax and key use the bathrooms! Some have nice outdoor seating.

Never been in an Italian McD's I guess as overwhelimingly the patrons are Italians and there is healthy foods there too. Take a look sometime!

We were in Italy last Christmas. We rented a car from Rome and drove to Orvieto and Siena. It was beautiful and we are glad we did it even though it was a rushed trip. Had a heck of a time getting back to Rome as the train was cancelled and ended up in the middle of nowhere on a bus to Grosseto where we were told there were no more trains so spent the night. At the time I cried but now I look back on it as a great story!

Oh and if you are looking for a fabulous restaurant in Rome on Christmas Day (I know because we went on xmas day and another day) Try Saltimbocca, very accommodating, delicious food. Friendly staff: accommodated us on another night when we failed to make a reservation, and even said thank you for the post I had put on facebook saying how much I liked the restaurant!

Been a great trip so far.
Headed to Rome from Venice in a couple of hours.
Hitting the Vatican in the afternoon.
Both Florence and Venice are enchanting in their own ways. Highly recommend visiting this time of year.
Not crowded at all. Weather has been good. . cold , but
sunny and clear. Food is great. People are the same as
anywhere else.
Been a great trip so far.
