STONE TOWN hotel recommendation for 1/14/18

I was told to book a place with a pool. I was looking at Tembo but wanted another choice in case they are booked. Heard Serena was not worth the $200 a night looking for $100 and below, Thanks

Hi there, I saw your post to me on another thread about Africa House. I haven't really checked it out but it could be an option as its also situated near Serena and on the outskirts of the the maze of narrow streets that are old Stone Town.

I stayed at a small guest house called Beyt Al Salaam just around the corner from Africa House and across the street from the Serena. The restaurant there was fantastic.

AC would be the most important thing for me while in Zanzibar, even in June which is one of their cooler months it was hot & very humid.

Beyt Al Salaam doesn't have a pool but does have AC.

Just read reviews for Africa House and they are not great. Maybe just go there for the sunset but go early as watching the sunset from the bar is quite popular.

Didn't have a pool, but we liked Kisiwa House very much.
