Nantucket Baggage Storage

Does anyone know if there is storage available anywhere just for the day if you're not staying over? I'm going for just a day (9am-8:30pm) and my DD wants to go to the beach for part of the day. I don't want to lug all that stuff around the rest of the time. Thanks!!!

How are you arriving and departing? (public transportation or rental car)
Where are you coming from or going to after sunset?

Well, Tom, they won't be arriving by rental car because Nantucket is an island and the cost of bringing over a car is north of $500 for non-residents. You also have to make reservations weeks/months in advance.

A new "valet" luggage service just began somewhere downtown. I will find out about it today and post again tonight with the information.

Or, you could tell your daughter to put everything she needs into a backpack and carry it around.

There are busses to the beach from in front of the Whaling Musuem at the end of Steamboat Whart.

The way I read tom's question is

"how are you arriving and departing.....to/from the ferry terminal on the mainland...

& where are you staying the night before/after.

Basically asking, is leaving luggage on the mainland an option.

It's a little subtle for me. I never would have figured that out from the post. Thanks for the elucidation!

ANYWAY, I stopped at the Vistors Office, and here is the result.

NANTUCKET DAILY BAG AND LUGGAGE STORAGE
5 Candle Street (National Grid Parking Lot)
Around the corner from the waterfront Stop and Shop, across the street from the bus station.

$5 per bag per day, open 8 AM to Midnight until Labor Day
