Bit of an oddball question - Seeking NYC Guidebooks in Chinese
Hi everyone. We have a diplomatic delegation coming in from China next week are a looking to provide a handful of New York City guidebooks in Chinese. Any ideas where we could source those? You would think it would be easy here in NY but we're not having any luck so far. Any help appreciated.

Call the New York Public library in Chinatown. They probably have some books to lend and may have some clues on where to buy them

Called BN to no avail. We're seeing if the Chinese consulate can help. We've called three bookstores in Chinatown which also didn't have any NY guidebooks. Who would have thought this would have been so hard!

Do you have a convention center, or a visitor bureau? Here in San Francisco we have guides in all languages, and they are free!
Stop at any major hotel, get a guidebook in English, ask them if they have in Chinese.

Go to www.abebooks.com They connect with bookstores throughout the U.S. and the UK. It's worth a shot.

Not dialects, since it's a written language that is not based on sound. However, make sure that the guidebooks are written in the new "abbreviated" Chinese script used on the Mainland. Chinese who live outside of China still use the more traditional (more strokes) written language.
Does NY have a Visitors' Bureau? Maybe it can help.
Otherwise, I would suggest that you google and find "Chinese bookstore, Los Angeles" on Yelp and also the list for San Francisco. Call the best starred ones and just ask. If they don't have any, they may know who does.
You could also try the same for Toronto and Vancouver, as there are fairly large Chinese communities in those Canadian cities.
