There's a B and B in Stone Ridge (my personal favorite village) called "A Sparrow Hawk". You can google it. It looks really nice... but it is new since I lived there. It would be around 15 or 20 minutes from Mohonk.

I have always wanted to go to Lake Mohonk Mountain house resort. I saw Sam Brown on The Travel Channel doing a show on it and fell in love. It's is on my bucket list.
Any pictures anyone wants to share?

It's very pretty, but totally overpriced and the food is nothing to write home about. (We have elderly family members who go every year - but they're the kind who complain vegetables are too hard when they're not cooked to mush.)

I agree with nyt. The setting is pretty but in no way unique, and nobody I know who goes there ever raves about the food. There are a number of good restaurants in nearby New Paltz if you're looking for food in that area.

Hudson Valley used to be a favorite area to visit when son was teaching Vassar College (now in Boston and so are we). Mohonk Mnt House is a nice enough place including the strolling paths but too expensive for what you get.
