which Caribbean island for flavor and turquise water?
Often been to Mexico and wanted a different experience this time. want to enjoy the
local flavor of the islands with some night life and beautiful days snorkeling. Any
suggestions? Maybe something romantic. thanks for your advise.

st. martin does not have much snorkeling.
barados has some snorkeling on it's west coast. has more of a british atmosphere. would definitely have nightlife in 'the gap'.
bahamas - some islands have good snorkeling. few have much nightlife.
you might consider grand cayman. lots of really good snorkeling and a reasonable amount of nightlife in georgetown/along seven mile beach.

I thought and thought about this. Snorkeling with nightlife really doesn't go hand in hand. Outside of Mexico, I agree with Grand Cayman.
I loved the night life in Aruba and the the snorkeling was pretty good, but you have to leave the resort area. You need to take a catamaran trip, go to Baby Beach, Arashi Beach, DePalm Island or the Mangel Haltos.
Belize has good snorkeling, don't know anything about the nightlife though.
We decided on the Barbados this year. Swimming with the turtles with 2 snorkel stops seems to be one of the main attractions. Nightlife there is abundant.
