Venice to Milan

We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids), travelling from Venice to Milan (Malpensa airport) on 9th evening. Which is the most economical train to go from Venice to Milan
Thanks

i'm not sure exactly what you are asking. do you mean fast vs slow train... or the least expensive time of day?

i did a quick check on trenitalia. if you take a moment to register on their web site, you will be able to see all of their special fares, including 'mini' and 'familia'. they vary from day to day, and are (i think) based on demand. for a random day in mid-june... i see they are quoting a BASE fare of 35e per adult and 17.50e per child. mini fares are less, at 29e per adult, but no mini for the kids. that's all for 2nd class.

1st class base fare adult is 48.50e and 24e child. 1st class mini fare is 39e adult but no mini fare for the kids.

hope that helps. best thing to do is to register with trenitalia and then you can really explore the fares as they change almost daily. you can buy and print all of your tickets from home... so much nicer than the old way of finding a travel agent in italy and trusting that you are communicating exactly what you want!

Bimbi gratis means children free. Children seems to mean over 6 and under 15, I assume under 6 is always free.

On Trenitalia, childs rate is for age 4-12. You need to select the family rate.
