What's your budget?

If you're willing to share a bed, you can try Piceline. We've had good luck; I recommend reading www.betterbidding.com and www.biddingfortravel.com before bidding.

Not sure when youwent efore - but Oct is heading into high season and rates will be much higher than the early part of the year. Affinia properties are modest to moderate in cost.

Exactly how much are you willing to pay? And can you share one dobule bed? If yuo can, yuo may consider using bidding Priceline to get a discount - but you need to bid carefully.

Prices in NYC are getting higher and higher. Rates fluctuate by date. Oct is pricey. if you like a suite hotel, look at the Milburnhotel.com

It's really too early to book a discounted room for October, but keep checking Expedia, Travelocity, orbitz, etc. As you get closer, check on quikbook.com (their secret sale hotels are consistently good) and travelzoo.com.

I agree that Priceline is the way to go for one bedded rooms for two people.

What are your dates and budget?

200.00 a night before taxes and fees? That'll be a priceline bid, if you can get it.

If I were you, I'd consider one of the Long Island City hotels. You can read through this thread for more information:
