Spring Break (March/April) -- Road Trip ideas from Helena, Montana
Hello,
I was determined that we would stay home for Spring Break this year....but now that we are getting closer to the date, I'm not sure that I can stand it!! So, I'm looking for Road Trip ideas -- We are up for driving up to 700ish miles to get somewhere and stay put for the week...or we could putter along at about 200 miles per day sight-seeing along the way. Which direction would you head? Please get me started!! My husband hates to talk trip planning so I'm on here talking it out. Thanks Julie |
I realized that I didn't give you many details to go on...here are a couple.
Our kids are ages 5/7. We like short hikes/bike rides, playing in the sand, kid-friendly museums, eating (gluten-free would be a bonus!!). Budget of $150/night lodging. Small towns great. If a big city, we need a good itinerary. |
We live in Idaho so I can feel your cabin fever. I don't know if you are absolutly set on a road trip, but we were talking to some people last night who just found great deals on air travel during break. I suppose from Helena your cheapest airport would be Great Falls and Allegent goes in and out of there.
Road trip: Oregon Coast Seattle or Portland Flathead the Dakotas For us, it would have to be warmer than were we are so we look for green grass and any destination south or west of you can fit that bill. We often pick a destination and then rent a house from VRBO. |
For a city, Portland and Seattle both have a great deal to offer families.
On the Oregon Coast we like Cannon Beach, Newport, and Yachats; however, if you like small towns, Manzanita would be a great option. HTTY |
