I'd look at a map of the BRP and decide what parts you want to do. It is 45MPH and that gets wearing no matter how pretty it is out the window.
YOu'd might like to visit Asheville and then it quits a bit south of there.
I26 from the Asheville area will get you on down to Charleston, where again, I hope you'd stop a little while.

You might look at including Skyline Drive, depending on how long you have.

IMO the prettiest section of the BRP includes the Linn Cove Viaduct -

My favorite areas in NC include the Asheville area and the Banner Elk/ Boone/ Valle Crucis area. Be sure to go to the original Mast General Store in Valle Crucis. One of the prettiest areas in this country.

Have you been to Fallingwater yet? If not, spend the night before and see Kentuck Knob.

So my road trip would be R to Fallingwater. About 5 hours. Spend the night. See the houses.

On to NC. Look at a map to see where you want to get on the BRP If you liked the Andy Griffith show, you may want to visit "Mayberry" or Mt. Airy and get on the BRP near there and drive from there to the Boone area. Spend the night. Visit Valle Crucis.

Get back on the BRP and drive it to Asheville. Spend the night. See the Biltmore home and estate.

Finish the drive to Charleston. About 4 hours.

There are no right/wrong answers - just what you want to see along the way.
