Road Trip From IA to Niagara Falls
 

We are thinking about driving from Iowa to Niagara Falls Canada Side. I read the replies with good infor on what to do once we are there, but does anyone know of anything worth seeing along the way?

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame or anything else in Cleveland?

There's some Amish in Ohio... or Cedar Point...

Chicago.

Indiana Dunes (amazing to find such dunes inland)
Saugatuck/Holland Mich. on lakeshore (quaint, artsy)
Greenfield Village near Detroit (Henry Ford history)
London, Ontario (under-visited city, important destination of the Underground Railroad, among other things)

FWIW, the hydroelectric station on Grand Island (US side) - which runs on water diverted from the Falls - is actually pretty interesting

There are numerous wineries in Ohio, PA & NY. Check out the Lake Erie Wine Trail.

jhagerman-- Do you plan to drive north or south of Lake Erie to get to the falls?

Thanks for the ideas. Not sure of our route as far as driving. Does anyone know a good mapping site for directions and sites to map?
