1) Go to Google maps -
2) enter Atlanta GA and Vancouver BC
3) look at map and the suggested route. Note the closest ocean.
4) note the distances - 2807 and 2797 depending on the route

5) add Mount Rushmore as a destination
6) note the new routing and mileage - 2853

500 miles a day is the max I consider driving. That's about 8 hours a day of driving.

6 days x 500 miles a day = 3000 miles
So, you can do it in 6 days but with 8 hrs/day of driving and not much time to see things.

Use the map to find possible interest points and stopping points.
Happy planning!

The route starrs mentions above goes nowhere near the state of Mississippi. If both of you are willing to drive, Start in the middle of the night and show up in St. Louis in the morning after a 9 hour drive. See at least the Gateway Arch. Next stop, St Joseph, MO in the other end of Missouri. From St. Joseph it is an easy drive to Mt Rushmore. If you have the time, make a stop in Mitchell, SD and see the Corn Palace.
From Mt. Rushmore the next stop would be Missoula, Montana.
From Missoula you can decide to take the scenic slow way past Flathead Lake and Whitefish crossing the border on US93 and completing the trip on the Trans-Canada Highway or the fast way on I-90 through Spokane to I-5 near Seattle.
With 2 drivers switching off every 4-5 hours and the willingness to drive through the not so scenic areas at night, you can see what you want to see.
