Planning Road Trip Seattle to Denver and Back

As a family, father, mother daughter and Son all adults - are planning to spend about 15 days on Road starting out of Seattle around 18 Jun. We plan to try to go upto Denver (visit some friends too) We do not really have to loop back to Seattle but fly on to NY from Denver or any place - for another 2 weeks of vacation on the East Coast. It means we drop off our rental car where we catch a plane for east coast.

Any suggestions please, routes, place that are must see. Should we try to also go to Grand Canyon?

Have you been to the Oregon and California Coast, the Columbia River Gorge, San Francisco, California Wine Country, or any of these National Parks: Yosemite, Death Valley, Zion, Bryce, Arches, Rocky Mountain?

PS The Grand Canyon is worth visiting.

Absolutely check out the Grand Canyon. It's one place that absolutely lives up to the hype. Also if you're in the Arizona region and don't mind a bit of a drive. I love Arches National Park in Utah.

If you need places to visit check out http://www.roadtrippers.com you can put in your route and find interesting places along the way.

Thank you.
I have so far planned / shortlisted two routes - Help from Mapquest

Seattle - Cour D' Alene ID- Three Forks MT - Billings MT - Buffalo WY - Casper Denver

I plan to return to Seattle via the Grand Canyon- Las Vegas Salt Lake City - Boise City Seattle

I plan to do this 4 days to Denver - stay 3 -4 days at Denver and return 4 - 5 Days to Seattle

Anyone who has been on these routes - nice places to stay - any other advise. I see that I would be entering Seattle on 4 - 5 July, would that be too crowded for travel ?
