I was not advising driving anywhere near Naples--I meant if they take the train, which the OP seemed to be leaning toward, but who knows. Like mmeperdu, I don't feel 2 days is enough time for a leisurely road trip and feel spending time in a city would be more worthwhile.

yorkshire--Thanks for the clarification. I concur that two days is not enough for a leisurely road trip, but it might be a fun one anyway, as long as they drop off the car far enough outside Naples, as sandralist suggested

Don't be silly apscoradiales. Lots of tourists drive in Italy very successfully.
To the OP, you could take a day from Florence and add it to your road trip, that would give you more time to make your way south. |
