Dec - Seville - Andalusia road trip with kids?

Hello All,
I have a trip planned to Spain in december and was looking for advice on visiting andalusia.
We plan to spend 2 nights in Granada and go from there Seville. We have about 5 days before we need to head to Madrid.

Where do you suggest I go in those 5 days? Does it make sense to a road trip from Seville to the white towns in the south and back up to Seville? Any particular places that are must-see?

I'll have two young kids (4 & 0.5) in tow.

Thanks!!

Clarify please - you have five days to travel between Granada and Seville or five days available between G. and S. including a length of time in Seville not mentioned.

There are scores of villages and towns of interest to me, and not necessarily 'white towns', between Granada and Seville, but I have no children and no idea how this impacts.

Presuming and leaving out the scores of possibly interesting or attractive 'white towns', here is a short random selection for you to dyor - Montefrio, Alcala la Real, Priego de Cordoba, Cordoba, Antequera, Ecija, Osuna, Carmona. Whether, these or 'white towns' have enough to interest you and your party, I would not know.

Plenty of "must sees" of course in fabulous Granada and Sevilla.

But you can make a very interesting road trip in between the two. It will partially be up in the mountains, so be prepared for snow.

Go from Granada to the quite spectacular old Spa town Alhama de Granada, less than one hour drive: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/de...d-of-town.html

Go from Alhama through Ventas de Zaffaraya in the Axarquia mountains: http://www.absoluteaxarquia.com/areas/zafarraya.html

and head for Archidona or Antequera, the so called heart of Andalucía or "the crossroads of Andalucía". Antequera is almost right in the middle of the Sevilla, Córdoba, Granada, Málaga rectangle. Here you'll find dolmens (some 5000 years old burial chambers), Roman baths, a Moorish Castle, Gothic churches, Renaissance fountains and Baroque bell towers. Antequera was the first of the Granada emirate towns to fall to the Christians in 1410.

The extraordinary Torcal limestone rock formations is just outside Antequera: http://www.andalucia.com/antequera/torcal/home.htm

From Antequera it's 1h 30 mins driving to Sevilla.

This site gives good info about Sevilla: http://www.exploreseville.com/

Sorry, I should've been more specific. I plan to take the train from Granada to Seville and then spend 5 days in Seville before heading to Madrid. I was wondering if I can do a road trip from Seville to down south and back to Seville in a couple of days.

How about Seville - Jerez de la Frontera - Ronda - Antequera - Seville? I could stay overnight in Ronda, if it's too much of a drive.

kimhe I've had a look at your links, so helpful thanks. We too will be doing a road trip late Dec early Jan' from Madrid and back with about 17 days.

You could do it. You could also spend 5 nights in Sevilla and maybe do a daytrip to Cordoba. Or rent a car for a day and drive to Ronda and someplace like Grazalema if you must see a white village. The idea of schlepping the kids all around Andalucia in the car and spending a one nighter in Ronda might be questionable.
