It is kind of funny what people in one country hear about in another. Disney - yes, the ultimate amusement park, but I never, ever thought of anyone from another country wanting to go to Dollywood.
I don't mean it to be snobby, and do understand the draw to some place that looks like fun, but feel sad that so many beautiful, historic, very interesting, authentic (and fun) places are not even known about, or are overlooked in favor of kitsch or even tacky. I hate that the hype of such "amusement" parks takes top billing over "real" wonderful places.
Whatever you end up doing, I hope your trip is fantastic.

I fully agree about kids being brought along with the family's trip and learning to live with the things "everyone" (meaning parents) wants to do. I will just continue to point out that "your" blues trip is pressing the envelope, IMO. Kids get caught up quick on "isn't that a beautiful mountain", etc.
Taking them to places everyone really enjoys makes wanting to travel with the family a longer lived experience--at least that is our experience.
