Athens GA to Charleston SC road trip help!
 

My friend and I will be driving from Athens GA to Charleston SC. We're both from new England and have never been to GA or SC. I will be staying in Athens with my friend for a week and then my other friend will be meeting up and hitting the road for the drive. We are leaving early on a Friday morning and want to be in Charleston the same day. Any ideas of placed to drive through? Thank you!

Unless you have specific interests in the area, I'd probably just drive straight through, stopping for lunch in Columbia, SC or later at exit 145 near Orangeburg, SC. Not much to see on that route.

I'm with Brian. Save your day for Charleston and have a real good time. It's pretty pedestrian. The coast will be more fun.
