Which surf town in Costa Rica with little children?
We are looking to go to CR for one week in November.
We will be a family of 5 - which includes two children under the age of 3 and our sister-in-law who is a surfer.
We would like the following:
-family friendly surf town
-stay on or in walking distance to the beach
-walking distances to restaurants and/or a town
-less than a 5 hour drive from san jose air port
Any suggestions????

We went to Tamarindo, which is known for surfing. It does have more of a party atmosphere than a family atmosphere, but I still think it would be good for a family with small kids. It was pretty relaxed and calm during the day. At night people go to the bars and party, but with small kids you'd probably be in for the night by the time anything got started anyway.
There are several hotels on the beach road along with shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. The beach is nice and wide with easy entrance into the water.
