The only one of the three I've stayed at is Makanda. We were there last February. I can't say enough good things about the place. We were in a studio and did run the air conditioning. One morning I got up early, showered and decided to 'find' the beach. When I returned, 45 minutes or so later, I was dripping with sweat. Lots of steps up and down to the beach. It was hot. But, the monkeys were so neat....

Makanda is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been!!! Yes, there is A.C in most studios and villas. Make sure the one you choose has it!

Have been to Makanda twice- once in October- perfect weather. Second trip was this past Feb, 2003 & it was HOT. Our Villa did not have air- although it was Beautiful! If you stay there get a unit with Air!

An additional note on Makanda- if you are traveling with others, some of the Villas have connecting doors (which may be locked for privacy) but it may be nice if traveling with friends.
