Actually I think the bus ride DF to PV is more like 15-18 hrs (see a map & remember to add a few hours from predicted time from the bus companies). Maybe you could break up the trip going to Guadalajara? Check Aeromexico and Mexicana's websites (if you haven't already).

We have the most expensive internal flights in the world. I don't know of any way to get a cheap flight. The busses are very luxurious, with reclining seats and video movies. They are also reliable and seldom late.

As JRinPV said, prices for internal flights in Mexico are outrageous! For instance, the price of a RT flight from Monterrey to San Luis (maybe 350 miles) can be around US$650, more than a flight to Europe!

Maybe you could try getting in touch with a Mexican travel agency, and try to get on a charter flight. There should be quite a few. If not, maybe the best alternative would be to go from Mexico city to Guadalajara by plane (should be around US$150), and then take a bus to PV.

Hi,
Mexicana and Aeromexico fares are around 350 usd round trip. Aerocalifornia is a liitle bit cheaper 300.00.
They are the only 3 carrier with this route. But you can ask in any travel agency in Mexico for Magnicharter flights. They are charters and air fare is 250.00 usd althoug they have limited schedules. All rates are include taxes.
To fly to Guadalajara it could be a cheaper option (usd 200.00) but you have to consider add the bus ticket to PVR so I think you will pay the same finally. Good lock!
