Transfering from the Iguazu Jungle Lodge to the airport on the Brazil side of the Falls.

Good morning, everyone. I am looking to visit Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls and Rio this December. Was planning to take one-way flights from B.A. to Iguazu Falls, stay at the Iguazu Jungle Lodge for two nights, and then catch a flight to Rio for a few days. How is the transfer process crossing the border from Argentina to Brazil in a taxi? Do taxi's drop you off at the border and then you have to hail a second taxi? About how long should I allow myself to make a transfer like this? I guess I should just contact the Jungle Lodge and ask them. But thought I'd get some helpful comments here a lot quicker.

Thanks in advance for any advice or opinions!

My suggestion is to stay on the Brazilian side(Iguacu)...makes it a lot easier ..
we thoroughly enjoyed The hotel Das Cataratas, right smack next to the falls...outstanding scenic views...a colonial style hotel with excellent restaurant, pool, large rooms.(see link)

Thanks so much for the hotel recommendation, Tower. It looks lovely, but a little too pricey. If logistics become a problem for me, I may change my mind. Right now I'd still like to try and make a stay at the Iguazu Jungle Lodge work for me.

Topping for the evening crowd. I sent an inquiry to the Jungle Lodge asking about room availability and transfers to the airport, but they didn't address my question about the transportation. *sigh* Only answered about the room rate. I sent another e-mail asking them to address my other questions. Hoping to hear back soon so I can make a decision and get a reservation.

Thanks for any opinions/advice.

Hello,

First of all, the cost to obtain a visa to Brazil for US citizines is $100, so if you are only planning to stay in Brazil for a few days then it may not be worth this cost. The Argentine taxi driver should be able to take you to the Brazil airport because they transport tourists often from the Argentine side of the falls over to the Brazil side. I hope this is helpful.

Our Driver picked us up in Puerto Iguazu (Argentina) for our short Transfer across the border to IGU Aiport in Brazil and he just parked up just past the Border Control in Brazil and he escorted us to the Border Control where we handed in our passports and completed entry papers (which he had a supply of) and we were done and dusted in a couple of minutes and back on our way to the Airport. You must keep the entry papers until you leave Brazil otherwise you will face a fine. We are not U.S. citizens so did not require Visas
