Things to do in Puerto Vallarta

My family and I are going to Puerto Valarta mid-July. This will be our first trip. Any suggestions on day trips and what is a must to see. Thanks.

Just got back yesterday from PVR. Cant really recommend too many tourist trips, snorkeling is not very good, horses are in poor shape, bugs and mosquitoes are bad. Rent a jeep and drive north on your own. The waterfalls south were not too exciting. Shopping in town at the flea market is good. Parasailing is great, stick to the resorts if you can!

I don't think 4pacs was in the same PV as I was!! It is a wonderful city. The town and the area is filled with things to see. I was there in the winter so got to go Whale watching. Just look in all the literature and you will find tons of activities. Best of all the people are wonderful. The town is fun to explore. Take jeep safari into the jungle. That was a good one. Get on public transportation and go up to Punta Mita for the day or go south along the coast. You won't be sorry!!

I can easily understand why there are two opposing views of Puerto Vallarta. First, there is a big difference between the winter and summer. Secondly, it also depends upon your point of reference. Some people expect more than others.

Personally, I like Puerto Vallarta as a tourinst destination but would not visit in the summer.
