You asked this the other day; I suggest reading the tripadvisor reviews for a start.
This is just a condo complex, not a resort; unless you have good reason for staying in the city for your holiday, I REALLY recommend you go somewhere else.
There are many many beautiful places and varieties of budget lodging all over the country.

p.s. I'm not saying that's not a nice complex; but the location is not good for seeing the country. It's a long drive to and from volcanoes, and especially the beach, which you seem to want to visit.

I'm pretty sure that the OP is someone contemplating a timeshare exchange into TaraNova Vacation Club's Villas Palmas facility. You really can't experience Costa Rica by trying to do day-trips from San Jose. Most of the time will be spent traveling and sometimes fighting San Jose traffic. First decide what the things are in Costa Rica that need to be done, and then seek out the best way to do them. Trying to do day trips from San Jose wouldn't qualify as a vacation in my book.
