Should we go to Los Cabos or Puerto Vallarta in July?
Thinking of going to Los Cabos or Puerto Vallarta for one week at the beginning of July.
Would you please tell me what the weather is like in either place in early July, and which place you would prefer to visit at that time.

If you have an option, consider going in another season. It's uncomfortably hot in both places during the northern summer........spring or fall are far more desirable.
I've enjoyed both places multiple times, and have a slight bias for PV.
Whenever, and wherever you go, enjoy your holiday.

I just got back from Cabo last night, and believe me, even in the beginning of July, Puerto Vallarta is a much better choice.
To tell the truth, other than some amazing resorts, I don't understand the appeal of this area, especially Cabo San Lucas.

we were in cabo san lucas in mid june last year and the landscape is very arid because it's a desert on the ocean. we never were too hot or humid because there was a breeze the whole time that actually made it a bit chilly in the evening. beautiful sunny days every day we were there.
my friend went to puerto vallarta for her honeymoon in the summer, i can't remember the month and despised it because it was so muggy and hot and humid and buggy. but, if you can go in november which is when i went to puerto vallarta, the weather was terrific. no humidity, not a bug in sight and still warm. i loved puerto vallarta and the lush tropical scenery. we hired a cab driver for $20 pesos for the entire day and he took us to some terrific locations. of course that was in '95 so i am sure it's more now, but we were advised to not hire a car. in cabo we hired cars (we were a group)and didn't feel there was any problem.
hope this helps, in cabo you won't get lush scenery, but we had some awesome blue skies and ocean. if you can go later to puerto vallarta that is when i would go. oh and i liked the town area of puerto vallarta much better than cabo san lucas.

Was in PV last July w/the family(was supposed to be in Akumal but a hurricane side tracked us).
Yes, it was hot & humid- but I'm from Maryland and it wasn't any hotter there than back home - in fact it was hotter at home while we were gone!
In the pool/ocean water it was fine...there was a nice breeze in the evenings (only had one rainstorm over night). The views of the mountains were gorgeous.
I've never been to Los Cabos...
We are headed to Akumal this April and for our young kids I think this will work out better for us because the water will be much calmer - the water was much rougher/currents, etc. in PV and easier for snorkeling.
As we learned, July in PV is a time for locals to be on vacation so there were mainly Mexicans on vacation with us...and very few Americans, etc. (guess it's the heat) I must say everyone was incredibly friendly. We rented a villa (Casa de los Lomas) for a week and then spent a couple nights at the Westin Regina (BEAUTIFUL hotel/grounds).
We snorkeled, did a horseback ride up the mountain into the jungle, went into the city one day - not much to do there(really felt the heat that day).

Ditto with Suze. I just returned from PV. It was a little different this year then last. The Ocean is remarkable, in November it was calm and great for swimming on my beach area, but two weeks ago the waves were 12 to 15 feet high and there were a lot of rocks by our beach area. This is very unusual for January. The rocks were being replaced by sand by the time we left. The ocean is just fascinating. In July, the rainy season in PV, it usually rains, stops, then rains, etc. Not always a real downpour like in the USA towns. Remember you have the ocean, probably a pool, and air-conditioning. Dont let a little hot weather bother you. Definitely PV over Cabo.
