Should I go to Costa Rica?

I have always wanted to go to Costa Rica but I am a big afraid that bad people will come and take advantage of me or kidnappers etc. Should I be concerned? Also are there any luxury hotels with robes that I could stay in yet explore jungles by day then dine in comfort by evening? I have zero desire to fight bugs! Thanks!

Costa Rica is AMAZING!! I don't think there are many places outside of the capital that you would need to be worried about....kidnappers , or people taking advantage of you ect...

There are so many great areas of costa rica so its hard to tell you a hotel without knowing the area you are wanting to go. But I do know there are some very nice luxury hotels scattered throughout the country....

A couple perhaps:
www.xandari.com (Can take some day trips from here)

www.lamariposa.com (near the beach and jungle)

http://www.fourseasons.com/costarica/index.html (again near beach & jungle)

Thats just a few I know right off the top of my head. I know there are others out there. ..Hope that helps a bit....

Actually, Xandari has robes and the Four Seasons better have robes for the amount they are charging per night ;-)

In all seriousness, muffin, you should do some general research and read up on Costa Rica before you decide to go there. It's generally a safe country with its usual share of petty thefts that come along with being tourist oriented. There are plenty of luxury accommodations available if you want to spend the money. Check out places like the already mentioned Xandari and Four Seasons. You may also enjoy Florblanca, Peace Lodge, Tabacon Resort, Paradisus Playa Conchal.
