Shore fishing the Oaxaca coast

Willing to give free advice and info on the art of handline fishing from the coastline around the Puerto Escondido area. So keep that hard earned money in your pocket and don´t get ripped off by the high prices of deep sea fishing. You can catch big fish from the shore if you know the secrets.

Getting ready to travel to Oaxaca. Have spinning outfit would love to have recommendations on type and weight of lures to purchase, even a link to on-line purchasing. Have shore fished the lower baja, both pacific side (Todos Santos southward) and the Los Barrilles area, Sea of Cortez(no luck using same successful 3oz lures from Pacific side). New to shore fishing, great fun. Sierra and Rooster fish are all I've caught so far, these on the Pacific side of Baja. I will be fishing in the nine bays of Huatulco area, from Copalita River eastward. The locals hand line in the evenings at the mouth of the Copalita River using typical Mexican fly-fishing gear, a beer or coke bottle and monofiliment with bait and 1oz weight.
