Sansa flight to San Jose to make connecting flight...bad idea?
We are planning to take the 11am Sansa flight from Tambor to San Jose the day of our departure. The flight is scheduled to get into San Jose at 11:35, and our flight to Newark leaves at 2:55. I thought this seemed like plenty of time, but I read in Fodor's it is a bad idea to ever take a domestic flight to your connecting flight, since a problem such as weather could happen and you might miss it. What does everyone think? Since we are spending five nights at Ylang Ylang, I was thinking of making it 4 nights and spending the last night closer to the airport - maybe Xandari. This might give us the opportunity to see other things too, then again maybe not since we would only have a day. What do you think?

I think it would be nice to spend the last night at Xandari. It's a great hotel - really beautiful property. You can hike the grounds, visit all the waterfalls on the property, enjoy their nice open air restaurant. The place has great views. They also have a spa if it interests you. Honestly I think you would be fine with your flight time, but if the flight runs late, and we have had that happen, it would be pretty stressful.

Thumbs up to last night at Xandari. You'd probably make it just fine, but stressful just thinking about it! We've had a missed domestic flight due to weather, but thankfully weren't in a time vise. I'd play it safe! Have a great time. Your plans sound really nice and relaxing and 4 nights is plenty in the Montezuma area. You can decompress nicely at Xandari!

Thanks for the advice! I was thinking five nights might be a bit too much in Montezuma. Xandari does look great and it's about the same price as Ylang Ylang. I just hope Ylang Ylang doesn't give me a hard time about cancelling my last night.
