How could anyone have stayed there if it's not opening until Dec.? I've stayed at Riu 's before, & have never been disapointed. The most recent the Riu Cancun, which was fabulous. From what I've seen, so far, from the Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas, it looks like it will be another gem.

Thank you for your reply. My question was not has anyone stayed at the Riu Palace Cab San Lucas, as you pointed out it's not open....so therefor that would be impossible. But has anyone stayed at a Riu resort. Guess I worded it wrong.
Glad to hear that your experience w/ the chain was a positive one. I appreciate the feedback.

I have been to both the Riu Cancun and the Riu Cabo and would gladly return to both. The Riu Cabo is the much larger of the two and the most beautiful. We were there in Feb. 2005. We found the food to be very good, and the huge swimming pools were heated. The beach is non swimmable but we preferred to be by the pools anyway. The town is ten minutes away by car and can be reached by taking a local bus (80c) or taxi ($10). We're planning to return next March.
