Rio best time

I love hot weather. Temperatures in the high 80's-90's. What are the best months to go to Rio?

I´m Brazilian and live in Rio. This temperature you´ll have during april/may, sep/oct, although here is often hot and sometimes we only have a few days of cold weather during winter, like last year. During summer we usually have between 90´s and 100´s.

I also feel that the best time to go to Rio is about 1 to 2 weeks before Carnival because the Carnival atmosphere is in the air and you don't have to pay the higher prices. Everything during Carnival is either double or triple than other times but 2 weeks before you should have alot of fun and alot of heat.
I was there the 3rd week of November last year. Got a great price ($420 roundtrip from IAD) on the airline ticket and a nice hotel discount because it was low season.

Temps were in the upper 80s to mid/upper 90s. It was 97F in Rio when I left and 47F in D.C. when I got home.
